Every so often, I run a simple exercise. If today was my very first day in real estate (no history, no reputation, no database) but I kept the knowledge I now have… how would I build my career?

The whole industry was completely foreign to me. I didn’t have some lifelong dream to sell property. I simply lost a bet with Maria and ended up here, kicking and screaming.

There’s a lesson I’ve been reminded of lately. It has nothing to do with real estate, but it applies perfectly to it.

There’s a simple question that separates high performers from everyone else. Are you focused on the importance of now, or tempted to put things off…until the timing feels right, the stars align or everything falls into place.

Let’s get this out of the way early. Successful people? They’re not exciting. They’re not chasing adrenaline. They’re not reinventing the wheel every Monday. They’re not waiting to feel motivated. They’re boring. Deliberately so.
